Where to Buy Your Holiday Cookies in Metro Detroit

It’s OK if you don’t have time to bake your holiday cookies this season. With all the shopping, decorating and spending quality time with your loved ones, it’s understandable that baking seems to always get put on the back burner.

So I’ve gathered a bunch of fantastic cookie havens in metro Detroit for you to try. Here’s the twist: use this as the guide for a festive cookie trail the kids won’t soon forget. You’re the master of this self-guided adventure — start and stop wherever the sugar rush leads you. Hit every spot or savor them one by one. It’s your call — just remember to sprinkle each moment with fun.

Some even offer at-home decorating kits with the cookies already baked and ready for decorating, which will make this Christmas and Hanukkah a breeze!

April’s Famous Bakes

This bakery has plenty of holiday cookie assortment for families, including sugar cookies, Andes mint, snickerdoodle, oatmeal walnut chocolate, Mac Daddy cran (Macadamia Nut, Cranberry and White Chocolate), chocolate chip, peanut butter and oatmeal raisin.

Culinary Combo Bakery

This bakery will be doing DIY Cookie Kits as well as Paint Your Own Cookie Kits for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas. Also, it has holiday-themed sugar cookies available at its counter. Be on the lookout for its cookie box ready to grab (no pre-order required) and great for holiday or hostess gifts. The gift baskets, available by pre-order in a variety of sizes, can be tailored toward different holiday celebrations.

Detroit Cookie Company

This cookie shop is featuring its Andes mint chip and gingerbread eggnog cookies this year for the holiday season. All storefronts are open seven days a week. The bakery also ships cookies to anywhere in the U.S.

Kookys N Cream

It will offer its “Cornbread Kooky” for the month of November and its Sugar Cookie Christmas Tree Kit in December. Look for the “Kooky Pops” themed for the holidays or try the “Pookys,” which are pie cookies. In November the Pookys are pumpkin and pecan; Christmas-themed Pookys will be eggnog and French silk in December.

Good Cookies

Stop by for the holiday-themed cookie of the week, which includes flavors like sweet potato and shortbread with cranberries. You can buy the regular in-house cookies by the dozen, half dozen or individually or check out the holiday boxes.
