Whether you are just starting out and figuring out your community’s bike lanes, or are a more experienced rider who likes to navigate back wood biking trails, there are plenty of upcoming bike races, rides and other family bike events in metro Detroit for any level of biker.

Homecoming Family Bike Ride

- Address: Start at Ford Field Park Tennis Courts, 500 Monroe St., Dearborn
- Cost: Free
Join Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud and Bike Dearborn in up to seven miles of family-friendly biking.
Tour de Troit
Sept. 14, 2024
- Address: Start at Riverside Park, 3085 W. Jefferson Ave., Detroit
- Cost: $70, $65 for under 21
There’s a 25.6-mile main ride for newbies and a 62-mile ride for more experienced riders. Both take riders through Detroit’s historic neighborhoods. The ride includes a souvenir T-shirt, food and beverages, and a riding bib. Registration required. Kids are welcome, but they encourage experienced cyclers.
Saturday in the Park at Nankin Mills Park Area in Westland
Through Sept. 28, 2024 (Saturdays)
- Address: Nankin Mills Park Area, 33275 Edward Hines Drive, Westland
- Cost: Free
Families can walk, run, skate or cycle safely on the six miles of Hines Drive at Nankin Mills Park Area. Hines Drive will be closed from Outer Drive to Ann Arbor Trail.
