Metro Detroit has some really great authentic and unique taco spots for families to try. If you’re looking for a place to satisfy your craving, check out these taco restaurants that are sure to do the trick!

Some of our favorite taco spots are Condado Tacos (we love their chips and queso, too) and El Charro if we’re in the mood for a “puffy taco.” We can’t wait to check out more of the best tacos in metro Detroit on this list!

Best Tacos in Macomb County

Amigos Street Tacos

Taste authentic Mexican food at Amigos Street Tacos. Their menu features a wide variety of tacos, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Their tacos come in chicken, chorizo, carne asada, ground beef, carnitas and suadero. They also serve birria tacos, shrimp tacos, steak fajita tacos and more.

Azteca’s Mexican Food

This family-owned restaurant is open for lunch or dinner. Their kid’s menu features chicken tenders, burger, grilled cheese sandwich or an Azteca’s kid’s combo with their choice of a hard taco, a soft taco, mini quesadilla, enchilada, flauta or a burrito. Choose from a regular taco, puffy taco, fish taco or a Mexican City Taco Dinner, which includes choice of grilled steak, grilled chicken, shredded pork, chorizo, grilled pork or shredded beef.

Crazy Gringo Mexican Cantina

This local spot offers Mexican and American food options. The St. Clair Shores restaurant is an express location with limited indoor dining. The Clinton Township location has an outdoor patio. They have another location inside the Guardian Building in Detroit.

Don Christo’s Tequila and Tacos

Don Patron

With hours that cater to both early and late diners, Don Patron is a great option for anyone looking to enjoy tacos in a lively atmosphere. Choose from their diverse taco selection with options such shrimp, cheese steak, fish and more. Not sure which tacos to order, try their taco sampler, which comes with five tacos for $16.

El Charro 

Their famous “puffy taco” is a must try! Other top picks on their menu include botanas, fajitas, charro bowls and enchiladas. Join the Puffy Taco Perks Program to earn points for every online order. If you’re getting a takeout order, the St. Clair Shores location has a drive-through. Also, kids eat free every Sunday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. (dine-in only).

El Fogon Authentic Mexican Grill

Juan Blancos Tacos and Tequila

Las Tortugas Taqueria

SeƱoritas Mexican Restaurant

Taco Loco Mexican Restaurant 

This authentic Mexican eatery is famous for their homemade tamales, stuffed poblano peppers, hand-dipped tacos, homemade flan and more.

Tequila’s Mexican Restaurant

Come to this Mexican restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
