The weather is getting warmer and that means it’s time for some local restaurants to open up their patios and rooftops for outdoor dining. Enjoy a different view of the city or a meal by the water at these patios in southeast Michigan.

Kid-friendly Patios in Macomb County
Bobcat Bonnie’s
This restaurant chain has locations in Clinton Township, Detroit, Ferndale, Wyandotte and Ypsilanti, but patios in Clinton Township and Ferndale. They offer weekly specials including Burger Night on Mondays, Taco Night on Tuesdays and Brunch. The kids menu features mac and cheese, hamburger (or vegan burger), grilled cheese, fish and chips, chicken tenders or a chicken quesadilla. The Partridge Creek Mall patio in Clinton Township is dog friendly.
Bumper’s Landing
This spot is a well-known sports and tiki bar by the water. Families can stop in for round of Detroit style deep dish pizza, tacos, burgers, wraps and more. Their kids menu features grilled cheese, chicken tenders, fish bites and chips, hot dog, pizza, taco and sliders and fries.
Blake’s Tasting Room

Stop in for a bite to eat when you’re at Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill for one of its summer festivals, farm tours or just playing at Funland! Share a party pretzel, loaded nachos, boneless wings, truffle fries or orchard dip. The children’s menu features flatbread pizza, hot dog, mac and cheese, chicken tenders and cheese quesadilla, which are all served with applesauce or fries.
Harrison’s Speakeasy
Enjoy dining outdoors on the patio, which features comfy seating and lawn games. For kids, they have dyno nuggets and fries, buttered noodles, mac and cheese and cheeseburger sliders and fries. All kids meals are served with a cup of applesauce or fresh fruit. Parents can enjoy a seafood dish, burger, salad, sandwich and more.
Knapp’s City Garage

Enjoy a family-friendly spot that offers 12-inch wood-fired pizzas, burgers, salads, sandwiches and more. For the kids, they have a cheeseburger, chicken tenders and grilled cheese, which are served with fries and a drink.
Marcus Grill
- Address: 55690 Van Dyke Ave., Shelby Township
This restaurant offers authentic old-world-style Polish cuisine including pierogis, kraut and kielbasa. The kids menu is for ages 11 and under and features pancakes with sausage/bacon, French toast with sausage/bacon, eggs with American fries and sausage/bacon, grilled cheese, hamburger, cheeseburger, spaghetti with meat sauce, hot dog, Kraft mac and cheese with fries, chicken strips and fish and chips.
Watermark Bar & Grill
Stop in to enjoy a meal on the patio. No reservations are required. If you’re in the mood for breakfast, enjoy one of the many benny’s, crepes or griddle options. Your “little skippers” can enjoy grilled cheese, pancakes or a one egg with protein meal.
Oakland
313 Pizza Bar

Of course, this spot is known for its delicious Detroit style pizza. It is located in downtown Lake Orion and is a great spot for all ages. Kids can choose from chicken fingers and fries or applesauce, a Detroit Style cheese pizza or a bowl of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.
The Beach Tiki Bar & Boil
This lunch and dinner spot has a tiki theme and features famous seafood boils, tacos, burgers, handmade pizzas, pasta and more. It offers authentic old-world-style Polish cuisine including pierogis. Kids can enjoy their chicken fingers, mac and cheese, alfredo (with or without chicken), grilled cheese, sliders with cheese or a kid’s smoothie.

Lily’s Seafood Grill & Brewery

This seafood spot is located in the heart of downtown Royal Oak. It brews its own sodas and beers. It has a lengthy kids menu that includes chicken planks, pepperoni pizza, pasta bowl, grilled cheese, bait plate, chicken planks, corn dog, seasoned fries and sweet potato fries.
Oat Soda Lake Orion
- Address: 197 S. Broadway St., Lake Orion
At this restaurant, they offer charcuterie boards, pierogis, salads, handhelds and more. For the kiddos 10 and under, they have a $7 kids menu that includes two sides and a drink. The menu options are mac and cheese, buttered noodles, cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza and a hamburger/cheeseburger. End the evening with freshly baked chocolate chunk cookies.
Rochester Mills Beer Company

Grab a bite at this historic knitting mill turned into a brewhouse. The kids menu features cheese tortellini, chicken fingers, fish, cheeseburger, mac and cheese, salad, chicken roll up and mini hot dogs.

- Address: 225 E. Maple Road, Birmingham
This restaurant offers rooftop and sidewalk seating for families. The kids lunch menu features pasta and butter, tenders and fries, pasta and marinara, cheeseburger, grilled cheese and fries and mac and cheese. The kids brunch menu features waffle, grilled cheese and fries, tenders and fries and eggs with bacon and toast.
The Morrie

Jolly Pumpkin – Detroit

Try this nautically themed marina that offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience on the Detroit River. The “plates for little sailors” include chicken tenders, beef hot dog, grilled cheese and wing dings, all of which come with French fries and fruit. For the adults, they are well known for their steak and seafood options.

Enjoy dining with your family on the rooftop patio. Their kids menu features chicken fingers, grilled cheese, quesadilla and BBQ chicken breast with veggies.
Johnny’s On The Lake
- Address: 146 High St., Belleville
This sports bar and grill has a beautiful view of Belleville Lake. Their kids menu features fish and chips, mac and cheese, grilled cheese and chicken tenders. All kids meals come with French fries and a small soft drink.
JP’s Waterfornt
JP’s Waterfront is a family-owned and operated bar and grill. Stop in by land or boat and enjoy the view of Humbug Marina. They’re known for their burgers, pizza and seafood menu items. Kids can enjoy their children’s chicken strips, mini burgers or grilled cheese.
