Your child is showing signs of autism, so who can you turn to for information, guidance, testing and support? Luckily, there are autism centers in metro Detroit and Ann Arbor with specialists ready to provide the services fit for your family.

Here is a list of the top autism centers offering support services such as parent education, Applied Behavior Analysis, therapy, workshops and much more in the Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties.

Acorn Health (Formerly Autism Center of Michigan)

  • Multiple locations in metro Detroit

Acorn Health offers individualized, age-appropriate learning objectives, one-on-one therapy (in-home or at the center), training and support to parents, weekly supervision of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), service coordination with other specialists and family training.

Beaumont Center for Exceptional Families

This center has a medical home model of care, meaning it has medical care directed by physicians, plus physical, occupational and speech therapy. In an effort to work with the whole family, families can find social workers and support groups, as well as the SibShop, a place for siblings of kids with special needs to hang out and socialize.
