Important School Deadlines in Macomb County

Every parent wants to set their child up for lifelong success with a quality education — and that means not only picking grade-A schools along the way, but also keeping track of important deadlines for kindergarten registration, SAT testing, FAFSA applications and many others.

While some of these deadlines are the same for students regardless of where they live or go to school, others vary by the school district, which can sometimes make them tough for busy parents to keep track of.

Here, find a list of important school deadlines for students attending districts in Macomb County and why it matters that you meet them.

Kids in their junior or senior year of high school can enter into this county-wide program to jumpstart their career or college education. Students complete the program in three years and graduate with an associate degree or credits to transfer to a four-year university.

Students should contact their school counselor for more information.

FAFSA application

FAFSA, also known as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is a form that incoming college students fill out in order to get financial aid for college or graduate school. The state deadline for the 2023-24 school year is May 1, 2024, and the federal deadline is June 30, 2025.

Students should be aware that some colleges set a deadline earlier in the year, typically in February or March, and should check with their chosen school for more information.
