Theater Groups to Explore in Macomb County

Looking to treat your little thespian to a show they’ll love? Look no further than theater groups in Macomb County and the surrounding area.

Stage shows put on by community theaters are typically produced and performed by local stagehands and actors, but deliver quality entertainment that is much more budget-friendly than larger traveling shows.

Here you’ll find a list of six great community theater groups to check out in Macomb County this fall. Some offer shows the entire family will enjoy while others are more geared toward adults.  Find one that fits your family’s needs and enjoy the show!

All The World’s A Stage

This youth theater is on a mission to help kids build connections and grow a love of the performing arts. This season, see kids performing a spin on movies such as Finding Nemo Jr. and Shrek The Musical Jr. Classes and workshops for kids offered, too.

Clintondale Community Theater

Clintondale Community Theater has entertained Macomb County audiences for more than 20 years. The group has performed three Michigan-premier musicals and hosts an original Christmas play every year.

Grosse Pointe Theatre

Catch Annie Jr. in December, 9 to 5 in January and February, Newsies The Musical in May, among others.

Macomb Center for the Performing Arts

The 2023-2024 season marks 40 years. This spot offers a wide variety of stage shows, including performances by the Macomb Symphony Orchestra and Detroit Concert Choir. See kid-friendly shows including The Adventures of the Tortoise and the Hare (Oct 17), Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. (Nov. 18-19) and The Nutcracker (Dec. 1-3).

Richmond Community Theatre

This theater’s 58th season offers showings of Annie Jr. in September and October, The Haunting of Hill House in November, The Play That Goes Wrong in March 2024 and The Wedding Singer The Musical Comedy in May 2024.

Warren Civic Theatre

Warren Civic Theatre works to educate the community on all aspects of the theater arts through live performances. Finding Nemo Jr. will be in November and Cinderella Youth Edition will be in March 2024.
