Rainy Day Activities for Metro Detroit Kids

Rainy days tend to sneak up on us, don’t they? In Metro Detroit, it can be sunny and beautiful one day and on the next, it’s all gloomy weather. What we know is that a rainy day can put a damper on our plans for the day, too.

But don’t worry, if you’re stuck on what to do when rain hits your area, we’ve got indoor attractions and kid-friendly places to help save the day. Check out these rainy day solutions that guarantee lots of family fun.

Put together a puzzle

Get moving

Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean you can’t get moving! Get the wiggles out with one of these fun workouts you can do in your living room. Dance around the house with a zumba class for kids or do some full body exercises to stay active while you wait out the rain.

Attend an art workshop

Build a fort

Ignore the gloomy weather by building a cozy fort inside. Spend the afternoon playing pretend in your newly constructed castle, skyscraper or space shuttle fort, or build a cozy nest where you can cuddle up and watch a rainy day movie.
