Signature Summer Festivals in Macomb County

Looking for something fun to do with kids this summer? Look no further than Macomb County, which is always jam-packed with fun family events — especially when the weather heats up.

Here, we’ve rounded up some of the best summertime fairs and festivals happening across Macomb County in 2023. Some are perfect for younger kids, others are aimed at teens and some are great for the whole family, but all of them will offer tons of fun for the families that visit.

Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival

June 21-25, 2023 

  • Address: Downtown New Baltimore area
  • Cost: Free, fees for some activities; preregister to enter competition

This annual festival celebrates those short-lived water bugs that hit the shores around this time of year. Enjoy a carnival, fireworks, parade, kids activities, cardboard boat race, corn hole tournament and more.

Fireworks Extravaganza

June 23, 2023 

Celebrate Independence Day with family rides and a spectacular fireworks display.

Riversight & Sound Concert & Fireworks Display 

June 23, 2023

The Riversight & Sound Concert kicks off the event at 6:30 p.m. Stick around for fireworks on the river at dusk.

Tons O’ Trucks 

June 24, 2023

Kids get up close to, and climb behind the wheel of, some of their favorite trucks and big rigs. Plus, inflatables, face painting, train rides and seasonal crafts.

Pride Picnic 

June 25, 2023 

Celebrate Pride in Macomb County! Bring a picnic lunch and blanket, and enjoy yard games and music.    

Clinton Township Fireworks

July 5, 2023

Families can enjoy inflatables, face painting, food vendors and live musical performances during the day and a fireworks show at dusk.

Blake’s Lavender Festival

July 14-16, 2023

Stroll through the fields of lavender, shop at the artisan market and enjoy lavender inspired treats at this fest. There will be free classes, speakers, demos and workshops at this annual event.

Festa Italiana

July 14-16, 2023 

This cultural fest offers three days of Italian music, food and tons of family fun.

New Haven Red, Hot & Blue Festival

July 14, 2023

Enjoy food and tons of fun for all ages at this event. There will also be live music from Killer Vibe and fireworks afterwards.

Sterlingfest

July 27-29, 2023

This outdoor summer extravaganza is back with three days of music, art, food and fun.

Grace on the Lake Music Festival 

July 29, 2023

Join for a family-friendly day of music, food, fun and fellowship at Lake St Clair Metropark. There will be a kid’s zone, bounce houses, food trucks, vendors and more.

Sunflower Festival

Aug. 11-13, 2023

Stroll through the fields of sunflowers, shop at the artisan market and enjoy sunflower inspired treats at this fest. There will be free classes, speakers, demos and workshops at this annual event.

Shelby Township Art Fair 

Aug. 12-13, 2023 

Visit this annual fair in River Bends Park to see some of the best work by Michigan’s artists and crafters. There will also be food, musical entertainment, a kid’s craft area and more.

Sprint & Splash

Aug. 12, 2023

This 12th annual includes a 5K run/walk, duathlon and two-mile paddle race. It will also offer food and music. Advanced registration required.

Armada Fair

Aug. 14-20, 2023

  • Address: Armada Fairgrounds, 74280 Fair St., Armada
  • Cost: $10/ages 13-plus, $5/ages 10-12, free/ages 9 and under; $10/daily parking, $40/weekly parking (cash only for parking)

This old-school fair offers everything from carnival rides and games to livestock displays, demolition derby, tractor pulls, rodeo, monster trucks and much more.

Assumption Greek Fest 

Aug. 17-20, 2023

Explore and enjoy Greek culture through food, music and live entertainment.

Romeo Peach Festival

Aug. 31-Sept. 4, 2023

  • Address: Downtown Romeo area
  • Cost: Free/admission, fees/vary by attraction

This annual summertime fest offers a ride midway, carnival games, crafts, a car show, a parade and plenty of sweet peach treats.

New Baltimore Art on the Bay

Sept. 2-3, 2023 

This annual art show features paintings, drawings, sculptures, candles and other crafts on display and for sale.

Richmond Good Old Days Festival

Sept. 7-10, 2023 

This fair offers a carnival full of games and rides, sporting events, parade, fireworks and more for families.

Metro Boat Show

Sept. 14-17, 2023 

Parents enjoy boating workshops and displays while the kids try crafts, RC boating and face painting. Live music, food and adult beverages, too.

Lions Classic Cruise Drive-In

Sept. 17, 2023
