Best Things to Do with Southeast Michigan Kids in June

There’s always so many fun things to do with kids in southeast Michigan, so how is a busy parent supposed to keep track of it all? With our list of the best things to do this month, of course!

This June, we’ve found tons of family-friendly fun, including Father’s Day events, Juneteenth events, Pride Month events and tons of summer festivals for you to check out. We also have tons of music in the park and movie in the park events for you to check out with your kids.

Center Line Festival at Center Line Parks & Recreation

June 2-4, 2023

This annual fest will feature live bands, magic show, games, petting farm, inflatables, food trucks and more.

Summer Sounds at The Mall at Partridge Creek

June 2-4, 9-11, 16-18, 23-25, 30, 2023

These weekend shows feature nearly 40 local artists. Make sure to bring a folding camp chair or low to the ground chair since seating is limited.

Sunday Night Concert Series at Lake St. Clair Metropark

June 4, 11, 18, 25, 2023

Kick back every Sunday evening and listen to cool tunes played live in the park. Musicians range from big band to soul to everything in between. June 4 is The Ashley Lynn Experience, June 11 is Free Beer, June 18 is Stone Blossoms and June 25 is The Firewalkers.

Summer Concert Series at Stony Creek Metropark

Enjoy the music of metro Detroit bands on Eastwood Beach. For all ages. June 9 is Weekend Comeback and June 23 is The Ashley Lynn Experience.

Juneteenth Festival in Downtown Mount Clemens

June 16-17, 2023

This festival features an art and craft show presented by Downtown Mount Clemens and G.I.R.L. and a day of reflection and remembrance.

Dairy Day at Wolcott Mill Metropark Farm Center

June 17, 2023

Start your day watching the cows being milked. After that, enjoy dairy-themed games, crafts, family photo opportunities and more. Also, free dairy products including cheese and ice cream treats.

Symphony by the Shores at Lake St. Clair Metropark 

June 20, 27, 2023

Bring blankets, chairs and even a picnic to enjoy while listening to the beautiful sounds of the symphony. Concerts will be held at Thomas Welsh Activity Center. For all ages. June 20 is String Quartet and June 27 is Woodwind Quintet.

Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival in Downtown New Baltimore

June 21-25, 2023

The short-lived water bugs drive the theme of this fest, which has a carnival, fireworks, parade, kids activities, cardboard boat race, corn hole tournament and more.

Pride Picnic at Dodge Park 

June 25, 2023

Join in on the fun celebrating Pride Month with Macomb County Pride. Make sure to bring your picnic lunch and blanket with you. They will offer yard games and music.

Music in the Park at Macomb Corners

Water Lantern Festival at Martindale Beach

Trilobite Treasures: Arthropods of the Ancient Seas at Cranbrook Institute of Science

This family-friendly exhibit takes a journey through the prehistoric life of the ancient seas when arthropods were plentiful. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the unique life and death of these fine Paleozoic creatures that once roamed the Earth during the Cambrian Period, commonly known as the Age of Trilobites.
