Can I bring a water bottle to the Detroit Zoo?
Yes! Bringing your own reusable water bottle is encouraged. The zoo no longer sells bottled water to reduce plastic waste, but you’ll find 21 refill stations throughout the grounds to stay hydrated all day.
Can I bring my own food to the Detroit Zoo?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to pack your own lunch or enjoy one of the zoo’s on-site dining options. Be sure to check ahead for restaurant hours and menu choices before your visit.
Does the Detroit Zoo offer stroller or wheelchair rentals?
Yes, the zoo offers rentals for strollers (single and double), wagons, wheelchairs and ECVs. Pick them up at the Main Train Station or Africa Train Station—but note, these rentals aren’t allowed on the Tauber Family Railroad.
Should I download the Detroit Zoo map before visiting?
