Playground Expansion Opens at Innovation Hills in Rochester Hills

If you haven’t visited Innovation Hills in Rochester Hills in awhile, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn that the innovative park has already expanded since opening in 2021.

Thanks to a $300,000 grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund along with other donations, the nature-themed playground now has 12 new play features, plus 100 shrubs and trees were planted around the park.

“This addition to the playground only further enhances the vibrancy of Innovation Hills and reflects our commitment to fostering a community that brings people of all ages and ability levels together,” says Mayor Bryan K. Barnet in a press release.

Since the expansion was unveiled on June 7, many families have already brought their children to spin, climb, swing and slide on the park’s new features.

Some of the new play features include a wheelchair-accessible We-Go-Round, a Cozy Cocoons space for kiddos who prefer a calm play area and a music area with hands-on opportunities for kids to get creative and make music.
