Greater Lansing Experience Pass Offers Deals on Family Activities

If you’re looking for a fun staycation this year, the Greater Lansing Experience Pass is just the ticket! This easy-to-use digital passport is free and provides discounts and deals for family fun in Greater Lansing.

“Our new pass provides a great way to explore the Lansing area,” says Lori Lanspeary, Marketing and Community Engagement Manager with Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We’ve curated an amazing collection of museums, attractions, leisure activities and places to visit. Our pass puts it right at your fingertips.”

How does the pass work?

The Greater Lansing Experience Pass is a digital passport accessible online. To begin, visit the Greater Lansing CVB website and click a link to sign up. Your digital pass goes right to your phone via text and email. There is no app to download! Save your pass on your phone’s home screen for easy access.

Now you’re ready to visit the curated list of Experience Pass participants and get deals and discounts. Every time you visit one of the participating locations, show it to the staff member to access your discount or deal.

The Experience Pass has some great features like a scrollable list of participating vendors and even a map so you can plan your visit. For extra convenience, the pass has experiences grouped into curated categories.

“Don’t forget to check in on your pass each time you visit one of the partners on our list,” says Lanspeary. “You’ll earn points that are redeemable for prizes.”

The Greater Lansing Experience Pass has deals on an array of attractions – too many to list here. Below are five family-friendly activities to help you begin your adventure. Get ready for family fun in Greater Lansing!

Abrams Planetarium

Located on the Michigan State University campus, the Abrams Planetarium offers families a thrilling journey into the solar system. Don’t miss the signature star show using digital projectors. You’ll also find a variety of space and astronomy exhibits, plus special events.

When you’re finished with your space odyssey, stop by the MSU Dairy Store for fresh, delicious ice cream crafted on-site.

Potter Park Zoo

Potter Park Zoo is fun for families seeking a zoo adventure. Within about two hours, you can explore engaging exhibits housing a variety of animals. “Potter Park is a manageable zoo,” says Lanspeary. “You can take your time observing the zoo’s inhabitants or breeze through the exhibits if you like. It’s a great activity to combine with others on our pass.”

Fenner Nature Center

Situated right in the heart of Lansing, Fenner Nature Center offers a quiet space for families to connect with nature. Take a walk on one of the scenic trails, observe woodland animals and spot a variety of birds. “With a pond, prairie area, and diverse wildlife, Fenner Nature Center offers a little bit of everything,” says Lanspeary.

High Caliber Karting

Are the kids getting restless? Has the weather let you down? High Caliber Karting’s motto is “Punch boredom in the face!”

Kids will love the exciting indoor go-kart experience and racing simulators. You’ll also find a large arcade, entertainment area and on-site bistro. Plus, High Caliber makes sure everyone can get in on the fun with go-kart options for people with physical disabilities.

“This is a great place to take older kids and teens,” says Lanspeary.

Impression 5 Science Center

Both parents and kids will enjoy exploring this interactive and hands-on museum together. You’ll find exciting exhibits and activities to inspire kids’ interest and natural love of exploration.

“Kids especially love the water experience room where kids can shoot water cannons,” Lanspeary says. You’ll also want to check out Pop, where kids can immerse themselves in a life-sized bubble. Go outside for the outdoor Planet Walk Plaza, lined by planet sculptures.

“The Planet Walk extends all the way to the Fenner Nature Center,” Lanspeary says. “Lansing is such a walkable city.”

The Greater Lansing Experience Pass is in effect until May 2024. Explore as much or as little as you want this summer and extend your family fun in Greater Lansing throughout the year.
