Get Spooked at Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends

Cedar Point is known for dishing out some serious screams, but it’s not always the coasters that cause all the commotion. For 27 years, Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends has transformed the amusement park into a Halloween lover’s dream—one where monsters roam the park and thrilling scares lurk around every corner.

Of course, this spooktacular event isn’t just for those who love to be scared. There’s plenty of spook-free Halloween fun for kids during the day, plus more than 70 rides, four kids’ areas and games galore.

Things to do with kids at HalloWeekends

Whether you’re searching for kid-friendly Halloween attractions or terrifying frights for the family, there is fall fun for everyone at HalloWeekends. For scare-free fun, check out the Daytime Delights activities, including trick-or-treat events and fall activities like corn mazes. Once night falls, the ghoulies and ghosties emerge and the Nighttime Frights begin.

Daytime Delights

It’s all treats and no tricks during Daytime Delights! Best for kiddos 12 and under, these family fall activities are nostalgic and fun for everyone. Plus, all of the park’s usual roller coasters, kiddie rides and games will be open. Kids’ areas close at 10 p.m.

  • Collect treats at 10 trick-or-treating spots across the park.
  • Walk through the whimsical (scare-free!) Magical House on Boo Hill.
  • Find your way out of the Tricky Corn Maze or the Howlin’ Hay Maze.

Nighttime Frights

Prepare to be scared. Brave kids and parents can enjoy animatronic decor and spooky lights as they test their nerves with frightening nighttime attractions. Haunted clowns, slashers, freakish pumpkin-headed creatures, voodoo ghouls and more terrifying beings await you.

  • Ride thrilling roller coasters in the dark.
  • Escape from 10 haunted attractions, including indoor haunted mazes and outdoor scare zones.
  • Enjoy sinister live entertainment and nostalgic Halloween-themed performances.
  • Treat yourself to special HalloWeekend bits and bewitching brews.

Tips for attending HalloWeekends with Kids

If I haven’t scared you away, that must mean you’re ready to take on HalloWeekend with your family. Before you head off on your spooky adventure, check out these tips for visiting the park with kids.

  • Save money by purchasing discounted tickets online. Online ticket prices are seriously slashed compared to gate prices. Take advantage of the Friday the 13th sale, now through Friday, Sept. 13, for the best bargain.
  • Keep the ghosts away. If your child (or you — I’m not judging!) is seriously scared, consider adding a No Boo necklace to your tickets. For $15.99, the necklace will keep the ghoulies and ghosties away.
  • Download the app. The Cedar Point mobile app provides live wait times for rides and haunted mazes, as well as updated show schedules and access to some of the park’s best kept secrets.
  • Leave cash at home. Cedar Point is cashless and accepts credit and debit cards or mobile pay.
